BACK TO BLOG

Learn the lingo of your rooftop to make your home building experience even more exciting.

When it comes to a rooftop, knowing the lingo involved will not only make your custom home building experience that much better, but deciding to re-shingle your roof years later will also be that much easier for you.

For starters, two of the most basic rooftops are “gable” and “hip.” A gable roof stresses the vertical, meaning it points up towards the sky. The sides are all equal length and come together at the top to form a ridge.
