Bathroom mirrors are always a dilemma and often a forgotten last-minute detail. Here are some decorative bath mirror looks we love, with tips, to help you both plan and nail your next bathroom update…
Round or Shaped Mirrors
Round mirrors, or any mirrors with a shapely profile, are bold. It’s important to find one with a thin to medium frame- too thick a frame and you’ll feel like you don’t have enough mirror, especially if it’s one you use constantly. In pairs, they work really well to break up a long vanity wall. Consider pendant lights above round mirrors- this way you don’t have something linear competing too much with the contour of the mirror.
Oversized Mirrors
An oversized mirror, filling wall space nearly corner to corner, is both functional and modern. Go with a dark frame to really outline the space. This chunky look works particularly well in masculine or rustic spaces.
Etched Mirrors
Sometimes a plate mirror is the only thing that makes sense for a space or budget is limiting you to working with something a little simpler. Mirror can easily be etched- have a glass etcher do a 6″ plain etched border for a more modern look, or do something more decorative. Either way, you’re not sacrificing ease of cleaning or mirror space while still getting a decorative look.
Cased/Built-in Mirrors
If you’re more traditional and like simple, subtle details, a plate mirror cased in millwork might be the way to go, especially in a bathroom with other wainscoting or detailed millwork. Eased edge casing in a board and batten style in the most up-to-date and creates a rich and custom feel.
